Trolling valve TM345 mech. Fits TM345 / TM345A

The Vetus STM9807 mechanical trolling valve kit is designed for Technodrive TM345 and TM345A marine gearboxes. It allows precise and smooth control of propeller speed at low engine revolutions, ideal for fishing, docking, or slow cruising.

Function

This trolling valve controls the oil pressure inside the gearbox clutch, allowing it to slip partially. This lets the propeller turn more slowly than the engine idle speed while maintaining full control.

• Turning the lever clockwise reduces oil pressure, decreasing propeller speed.

• Turning it counterclockwise restores oil pressure, increasing propeller speed.

• The adjustable range allows for up to 70% reduction in propeller revolutions.

Operation

1. Engage forward or reverse gear using the main control lever.

2. With the engine at minimum speed (max 1200 RPM), rotate the trolling lever clockwise until the desired propeller speed is achieved.

3. The valve allows smooth, controlled trolling without changing engine speed.

Note: The trolling valve should not be used for normal maneuvering, as clutch response time increases significantly. Always warm up the gearbox oil to at least 60 °C before use.

Installation

The STM9807 can be factory-fitted or retrofitted onto the TM345 / TM345A gearbox. Installation requires basic hydraulic knowledge and should be carried out by a qualified marine technician.

The kit connects as follows:

• (A) Main marine gear control lever

• (B) Trolling valve lever (requires a cable with at least 70 mm stroke)

• (C) Delivery pipe to the oil exchanger

• (D) Return pipe to the oil exchanger

An additional hose (STM9809) is required and sold separately.
