Waterlock size calculator (VETUS)
The formula includes a safety factor as shown in the VETUS diagram.
This does not change the capacity formula, but affects the advisory note (risk of backflow).
Formula used (from catalogue)
Required waterlock capacity (L) =
2 × (π/4 × D² × L) × 0.25 ÷ 1,000,000
D in mm, L in mm. “2×” = safety margin, “0.25” assumes ~25% water in the hose.
2 × (π/4 × D² × L) × 0.25 ÷ 1,000,000
D in mm, L in mm. “2×” = safety margin, “0.25” assumes ~25% water in the hose.
How to use the result
This tool lists all suitable waterlocks that match the selected hose Ø and have
capacity ≥ required. Final choice depends on space, installation layout, noise, and preference.
Note: This calculator verifies hose diameter and minimum capacity only.
